Costa Blanca is a large, expansive coastline located in the Alicante Province of Spain. The area draws many tourists each year and the region has many things to do. Scuba Diving in the Mediterranean: The waters off the Costa Blanca are warm and inviting. There are several diving schools located around the Costa Blanca area so beginning divers can still learn to scuba dive. Several towns are located along the coast and each of these towns is sure to have a diving school. Before partaking on a scuba expedition, divers must take and pass instructional and safety courses. Costa Blanca is located along the Mediterranean which has excellent visibility and warm water for most of the year. 2. Relax on El Carabassi Beach:  The Travel section of the UK newspaper, The Telegraph, names El Carabassí the best beach to visit while visiting Costa Blanca. El Carabassí is located near Santa Pola region with beaches that are quite shallow. These shallow beaches make the area perfect for first time swimmers or those who only want to get their feet wet. Alicante Provincial Archaeological Museum: As stated in the name, the Alicante Provincial Archaeological Museum is located in the Alicante province. Terra Mitica Theme Park: Located in Benidorm, Terra Mitica is a theme park that takes visitors back to the ancient world. Tickets for adults are €40 while kids are €30 for the day. 6. Terra Natura: Terra Natura is a large zoo that boasts 1500 animals of 200 differing species. Located in Benidorm, this zoo is perfect for families and people of all ages. Terra Natura is home to the unique “Zooimmersion” experience which means that visitors can get closer than ever before to the animals but are only separated by invisible barriers. The zoo is open all year and prices start at €28 for adults and €22 for children. 7. Tabarca Island: Tabarca Island is located just off the coast of Alicante and is a completely flat island. It is the only island on the Alicante coast that is inhabited by people. Tabarca Island is quite popular in the summer, especially in July and August, and can become crowded quickly. The island is also home to a marine reserve where many different species of fish and plants are protected. 8. The hills also offer several different biking trails. 9. Castle of Santa Barbara: The Castle of Santa Barbara was built sometime in the 10th century and is situated on the side of a mountain. There is no entrance fee for the castle but there is a fee if visitors choose to ride the elevator up to the castle. The castle is open Sunday through Saturday and can be visited from 10am to 10 pm. 10. Cuevas de las Calaveras: Cuevas de las Calaveras are caves that can be found in the Marina Alta region. Visitors can enter the caves from 9am to 6pm in the winter months and from 9am to 8pm in the summer. Tickets to enter the cave cost €3.50 for adults and €2 for children. Remember to bring warm clothes even in the summer as the caves tend to get cold.
